Community Grant for Ansdell and Bloom
13th of April, 2026
We’re delighted to share an exciting new addition supporting our wonderful community volunteers at Ansdell in Bloom ,a device known as a “Mi Mover”, provided by the local Community Workshop.
This specially adapted equipment has been designed to make maintaining the local planters safer, easier, and more efficient. It features a 120-litre water tank with an electric pump, allowing volunteers to water the planters with ease.
The Mi Mover is fully electric and includes an automatic braking system, an important safety feature given that water weighs 1kg per litre. The tank and pump can also be quickly removed, enabling the device to be used for transporting tools and other heavy loads.
This is a significant step forward for safety.
Previously, volunteers were crossing and re-crossing Woodlands Road carrying heavy containers, which has become increasingly hazardous with rising traffic levels. Watering involved multiple people and numerous 20-litre containers. Now, the entire process can be managed by just one or two people, greatly reducing both risk and physical strain.
We’re proud that Ansdell & Fairhaven Parish Council has supported this initiative through a grant to help bring the Mi Mover into use for the community.

We’re also very grateful to J & A Porters Funeral Directors for their generous support in providing storage, water, and power to charge the device.
This is a fantastic example of partnership working in our community supporting volunteers, improving safety, and helping keep our local area looking its very best.
