Slow Down !! Speeding Indicators in Ansdell

SPID UPDATE
THREE NEW DEVICES INSTALLED.
Ansdell and Fairhaven Parish Council has installed three new Speed Indicator Devices (SPIDs) following a lengthy consultation with our local residents and Lancashire County Council.
The SPIDs have been installed to help slow traffic at:
? Cypress Point
? Woodlands Road
Their purpose will not only slow down traffic with immediate effect, they will collect important data to analyse for any next steps and actions needing to be taken.
Chair Paul Wilkinson, Councillor Alan Roe and County Councillor John Singleton attended the delivery and installation. They were joined by Councillors Michelle Morris, David Perkins, Joanna Frith-Williams and Deborah Wilkinson.
In the past 18 months, residents have attended almost every Parish Council meeting raising concerns about speeding traffic in our community, especially Woodlands Road. We have listened, and we hope these SPIDs represent an important first step towards slowing vehicles down and making our roads safer for everyone.
County Councillor John Singleton also identified the need for traffic-calming measures off the Moss Road/Cypress Rd which was added to the installation programme.
